Year One Western Sydney Parklands Excursion

23 October

9:30 AM-2:30 PM

Western Sydney Parklands

As part of our study of our History and Geography units, ‘The Past in the Present’ and ‘People and Places’, an excursion to Western Sydney Parklands has been planned. This will allow students the opportunity to investigate the natural and human features of places and the environment, conducted by a National Parks Ranger, which ensures students get the educational experience in an engaging and adventurous way. They will explore the features of environments, how to care for them and the connection they have to people. Students will explore natural resources and investigate what aspects of the past they can see today.

Literacy Pro

One of the greatest gifts we can give children is to instil a love of reading. It is not enough to simply teach children to read. We need to provide them with a variety of literature that will make them wonder, make them laugh and take them to other worlds. Literacy Pro is a great way for teachers and parents to monitor and motivate independent reading. You can see their reading record, how many words they have read and celebrate when they reach a certificate level for completing quizzes on the books they are reading.
